Those of you who are already members of the TD SYNNEX Ecosystem will know how committed I am to providing opportunities for our community to explore potential collaborations, bringing together new innovators and solution providers with our anchor partners, SI’s and vendors. We run regular events where both existing and potential partners have the opportunity to address and explore key industry themes, which over recent years have become ever more focussed on the deployment of AI based solutions.
We are always exploring new topics and events at which to showcase our partners’ and vendors’ capabilities and so it was my distinct pleasure to bring together leaders and subject matter experts from three of our key vendor partners, IBM, Lenovo and NetApp, along with Computacenter and Origin Sciences, for the inaugural AI Ecosystem Showcase at The Belfry.
For those of you who weren’t able to make it, here’s a quick summary of the sessions. And for those of you that were in attendance – please share your thoughts in the comments, we’d love to hear your takeaways too.
Learning from Lenovo
Emily Barrett, AI Lead for Lenovo, kicked us off with an emphasis on smarter AI for all and how they adopt a hybrid approach with their clients via a Personal – Enterprise – Public experience. Emily also spoke about Lenovo’s investment in an AI Discover Centre of Excellence and AI Innovator partner ecosystem.
Inspiration from IBM
Ebru Binboga, Director of Data & AI Sales at IBM took us on a tour of IBM’s considerable AI history before explaining how IBM’s Ecosystem Business Partners and Distributors are critical to IBM’s AI success – including accelerating Generative AI outcomes via partnership with AWS. From here she spoke about risks associated with machine learning and Generative AI and building trusted large language models thanks to IBM’s approach of being its own ‘Client Zero’.
Optimism from Origin Sciences
Guy Mozolowski, Chief Technology Officer at Origin Sciences shared a powerful use case of AI in early-stage bowel cancer detection. He took us through the TRIOMIC testing process and described how CS, IBM and Lenovo are working together to provide Origin Sciences with the compute and storage they need to power their inspiring work.
Clarity from Computacenter
Steven Walker, Solution Lead for Data and AI at Computacenter, shared a vision for deploying enterprise AI, which extended way beyond helping its clients to achieve the business outcomes they want. He described how Computacenter plans to leverage AI to deliver improved efficiency and business processes whilst maintaining a distinct emphasis on ethical and responsible AI practices.
News from NetApp
Grant Caley, UK & Ireland Solutions Director at NetApp revealed how 68% of data stored is never used again and how NetApp has built a USP around providing storage infrastructure on a global basis for AI, via an innovative technology approach.
